Emily Blunt Starring in Steven Spielbergs Next Film

August 2024 · 4 minute read

Emily Blunt is in early talks to star in Steven Spielberg‘s next film.

The movie, like all of Spielberg’s productions, is shrouded in secrecy, but it is an “event film,” so think special effects and vast scope. It’s based on a story that Spielberg conceived and boasts a screenplay from David Koepp, who wrote “Jurassic Park,” “War of the Worlds” and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” Universal Pictures will release the film wide on Friday, May 15, 2026.

Blunt is coming off an Oscar-nominated turn as the alcoholic wife of J. Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster “Oppenheimer,” as well as “The Fall Guy,” an action-comedy that was well-received by critics, but failed to ignite at the box office. She’s no stranger to massive productions, having previously starred in the likes of “Edge of Tomorrow” (going toe-to-toe with Tom Cruise) and “Into the Woods.” Blunt also starred in “A Quiet Place” and stole scenes from Meryl Streep in “The Devil Wears Prada.” On television, Blunt appeared in the acclaimed miniseries “The English.”
