Katy Perry recently released a music video for her new single “Lifetimes.” According to Billboard, an investigation has subsequently been opened to determine if the video’s production caused environmental damage.
Katy Perry’s ‘Lifetimes’ Music Video Under Investigation
The investigation into Perry’s video is related to the protected dunes of S’Espalmador, which is located in Spain’s Balearic Islands. The Environment Department of the Balearic Islands said in a press release that the video’s production company did not request the proper authorization before filming.
One scene in the music video was reportedly filmed in a prohibited area of the dunes of S’Espalmador. This area was apparently marked by ropes. According to the Environment Department, filming in this area “can be authorized” if properly requested.
Perry’s song “Lifetimes” is the second single off her upcoming new album 143, following “Woman’s World.” The music video shows Perry living it up on Spain’s Balearic Islands — including Ibiza and Formentera. She sports a skimpy bikini on the beach and parties in a nightclub.

Perry’s New Album Is Out Next Month
Perry is gearing up to release her new album 143 (which is code for “I love you”) on September 20. So far, she’s released two singles attached to the new project. The first, titled “Woman’s World,” received some backlash — especially the accompanying music video.
Fans seemed to enjoy her second single, “Lifetimes,” more than the first. However, plenty of music lovers still shared their belief that the song wasn’t anything special, and didn’t stand out among other similar pop releases.
Perry teased the tracklist for 143 in the “Lifetimes” music video. The album will feature collaborations with 21 Savage, Kim Petras, Doechii, and JID. Song titles include “Gimme Gimme,” “I’m His, He’s Mine,” and “All the Love.”
