Majority of Republicans Expect to Use Trumps New Social Media Platform

Former President Donald Trump announced his new social media platform TRUTH Social last week, and more than 60 percent of Republicans expect to use it when it launches, according to a new Morning Consult/Politico poll.

Trump said last week that he created TRUTH Social to “stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech.” Twitter Inc. banned Trump and Facebook Inc. suspended him from their platforms for violating their rules after the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

An apparent beta version of the new site has already been hacked and accused of violating software rules.

 

The survey was conducted Oct. 22-24, 2021, among 1,999 registered voters and has a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
